Health

“Health is Wealth”.

Everybody wants to be wealthy and the best wealth one could have is a healthy life. For many years now distrust has developed among the patients in India about the healthcare system. This is evident in the news almost on a daily basis. It is regrettable that whenever I speak to any person from the general population or my patients, they express a feeling of disgust about the healthcare system. As a Doctor for last 24 years, it is extremely unpleasant for me to hear those things.

While changes in the society, especially in the moral value, may be the main reason, healthcare workers could not escape their share of responsibilities. Doctor-Patient relationship, like any other relationship, depends on mutual understanding and trust. Both should share their duties and responsibilities appropriately for mutual benefit.
